As we continue to develop our Learning Strength of Independence, Monday’s assembly provided the boys with an inspiring real-life example of where determination, organisation and perseverance can lead. We were delighted to welcome Archie Dunnett, a former Warwick Junior School pupil, who shared his journey in becoming the owner of a successful martial arts business, a leader of some of our after-school Kung Fu sessions and a published author of children’s picture books.
Elsewhere, it has been another busy and successful week. I would like to congratulate all the boys on the sensible and mature manner in which they responded for our first fire drill of the term. They listened carefully, followed instructions, and demonstrated the calm self-discipline that we encourage throughout school life.
It has also been wonderful to see so many boys representing Warwick Junior School in rugby this week. Boys from Years 4, 5 and 6 have all had opportunities to compete, displaying not only growing skill and determination but also excellent teamwork and sportsmanship.
This afternoon, our Year 6 boys joined pupils and staff from across the Foundation, and our MAT schools, for the Foundation Service at St Mary’s Church. It was a special occasion of reflection and thanksgiving, and our boys represented the Junior School exceptionally well. We are very proud of the maturity, respect and confidence they demonstrated throughout the service.
Thank you to those parents who supported the PAWS Macmillan Coffee Morning at Warwick School this morning. Community events such as these are a wonderful reflection of the generosity and spirit that underpin our Foundation. I also hope many families will enjoy visiting Warwick School’s Open Day tomorrow, which provides an excellent opportunity to learn more about the next step on the boys’ educational journey.
Looking ahead, there is much to anticipate next week. Some of our Year 5 boys will be taking part in a Warwick School Rugby Coaching Day on Monday, while Year 4 will enjoy an Ancient Greece History Workshop. Alongside further sporting fixtures, we look forward to welcoming Year 3 and Year 4 parents to the first Parents’ Evening of the year on Thursday.
As we move further into the Michaelmas Term, we encourage all the boys to continue taking ownership of their learning, staying organised, persevering through challenges and supporting one another as they aim higher.
I wish you all a restful and enjoyable weekend.
