For families looking for a smooth and seamless journey from the Junior School to the Senior School, Warwick School offers a supportive transition process.
PROGRESSION TO SENIOR SCHOOL
Each year, the Junior School Year 6 cohort accounts for around 40% of Warwick Senior School’s Year 7 intake.
The transition process begins in Year 5. Although all pupils are required to sit the Senior School Entrance Exams in Year 6, the majority of pupils will receive a guaranteed offer of a Senior School place by Easter (Lent term) of Year 5. This guarantee is based upon reaching the required academic performance, evidenced through standardised data and consistent classroom performance.
In November of Year 6, all Junior School pupils sit the Senior School Entrance Exams. Junior School pupils do not need to make a separate application for a place at the Senior School.
Following the examinations, any outstanding candidates are given the opportunity to be assessed for an academic scholarship.
Throughout their time in the Junior School, pupils benefit from a broad and engaging curriculum, alongside the support and preparation they need to achieve their full potential in the Senior School entrance examinations.
As pupils move into the Senior School, they do so with confidence. Pupils can make new friends while also seeing many familiar faces, reflecting the close ties between the Junior and Senior School and helping to ensure a smooth and positive transition.
If there are any concerns about whether Warwick School is the right fit for a Junior School pupil, these will be discussed with the Junior School Headmaster at an early stage.
