At Warwick Junior School pupils are empowered to make positive contributions to the community, locally and beyond.
Serving Our Community
We encourage our pupils to be active participants in all areas of school life.
Pupils are regularly encouraged to ‘do something for others’ by giving their time and taking on responsibilities within school, such as serving as a Tuck Shop Monitor, Digital Leader, Playground Pal or Librarian, while also thinking beyond the school environment about how they can contribute to the wider community. This may involve taking part in litter picks, helping at their place of worship, raising money for charity, or completing a First Aid course.
Charitable giving
At the beginning of each academic year, pupils are invited to put forward a charity for their House to support for the upcoming year.
On a rotating basis, each House will support either a local, national, international or Animal/Environmental charity. Boys present their chosen charity to their House, explaining who the charity is, what they do to help and how any money we raise would be put to good use. The boys within the House then vote on the charity they would like to support during the year. Over the course of the year, each House organises and lead a money raising event on their House Charity Day. In recent years the boys have chosen to support, Myton Hospice, Crisis UK, Helping Hands, UNICEF, Marie Curie, Cancer UK, Guide Dogs and the Dog’s Trust, to name a few.
